The case
Why this card matters.
The 1996 Flair Showcase Row 2 Kobe Bryant rookie is one of three base versions issued for the same player in Fleer's innovative tiered checklist. Every featured player appeared as a Row 0, Row 1, and Row 2 card, with each row using a different front design and print quantity. Row 2, identified by the "Style" designation, represented the most widely distributed version while maintaining the premium card stock and high-gloss finish that defined the Showcase brand. During the 1997 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, Bryant became the youngest champion in event history at just 18 years old. His victory helped establish him as one of basketball's brightest young talents during his second professional season.
