The 1996 Upper Deck Kobe Bryant #58 rookie card is part of the company's 360-card flagship basketball release. Upper Deck continued to distinguish itself through high-resolution photography, anti-counterfeiting holograms, and premium printing quality, standards that had reshaped the trading card industry after the company's debut in 1989. Bryant's rookie appears in one of the most celebrated NBA draft classes of the decade, alongside Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, Ray Allen, and several future Hall of Famers. Bryant retired following the 2015-16 season after spending all 20 of his NBA seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. At the time of his retirement, he ranked third on the NBA's all-time scoring list with 33,643 career points and held nearly every major franchise scoring record.
